Married: to Joe Bartoletti. He teaches high school American history and political science.

Children: A daughter Brandy and a son Joe

: Four (three brothers and a sister). I am the second oldest.

Pets: Two cats and one dog, a Shih Tzu named Sidney

Residence: Near Scranton, Pennsylvania

Education: I hold a B.A. in English/Secondary Education from Marywood University (Scranton, Pennsylvania); an M.A. in English from the University of Scranton (Pennsylvania); and a Ph.D in English from the State University of New York at Binghamton, where I also won the Excellence in Research Award.

Teaching: For eighteen years, I taught eighth-grade English at the North Pocono Middle School (Moscow, Pennsylvania). I also taught creative writing in the brief-residency MFA program at Spalding University (Louisville,  Kentucky) and in the Graduate Program in Children’s Literature at Hollins University (Roanoke, Virginia). In addition, I served as a Distinguished Scholar/Artist at Marywood University (Scranton, Pennsylvania). I continue to teach, often leading writing workshops through the Highlights Foundation (Honesdale, Pennsylvania).
